The Municipality of Eastern Paphos invites tenders for the pruning or removal of palm trees, as well as various other trees located on public pavements or green spaces within the municipal boundaries of the Municipality, including their removal and disposal at an approved site.

The price shall be quoted per palm tree or other tree pruned/removed, including the loading, removal and disposal of the foliage at an approved site.

Tenderers should visit the site and take into account all factors that will affect the work as a whole, as well as the following:

1. The removed prunings shall be deposited at an approved site.

2. The work shall be carried out in such a way that the comfort and safety of local residents are not affected.


3. The counting shall be carried out and supervised by an authorised officer of the Municipality.

4. In accordance with the Minimum Safety and Health Requirements (Use of Work Equipment at Work) Regulations of 2001 (K.D.P. 444/2001), Annex 11,
employees must be provided with appropriate information and instructions for use, be adequately trained (relevant and/or specialised training) in the use of the equipment, and be granted the right to consultation and participation in the matters covered by the Regulations. A training certificate should be attached if available. Specifically for the use of work equipment for lifting loads/persons, the Regulation of 2001 (K.D.P. 444/2001), p. 4715, paragraph 3.5, is attached.

5. Work must begin within 3 days of the date the tender is awarded and be completed within 20 working days.

Tenders must reach the Municipality no later than Friday 30 August 2024 at 12:00 noon. Tenders must be completed on the tender form and submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Mayor of Eastern Paphos. The envelope must bear the words “TENDER NO. 36/2024”.

The criterion on which the Municipality will award the tender is the most economically advantageous offer.
