Operating Hours of the Municipality of Ierokipia Public Service Offices due to the 15th of August Public Holiday

The Municipality of Ierokipia informs the public that, in view of the 15th of August Public Holiday, the Public Service Offices in all Municipal Districts will remain closed on Friday, 14 August 2026.

On Monday, 17 August 2026, public services will be available only at the Public Service Offices operating within the Municipality’s Finance Department in Geroskipou.

To avoid any inconvenience, please ensure to make the necessary arrangements and plan your visit in advance.

PROPERTY TAX 2026

The Ierokipia Municipality  informs the public that all invoices for the imposition of the Immovable Property Tax for the year 2026 have been sent.

The invoices are payable by 30 September 2026. From 1st of October 2026, a 10% additional charge will be imposed on outstanding amounts, in accordance with the applicable legislation.

Public services are provided at the Municipality’s Service Offices as follows:

  • Geroskipou Municipal District
    Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • Konion Municipal District
    New offices at the former Cooperative Bank (SPE) building, Konia Square
    Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
  • Timi Municipal District
    Monday and Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • Agia Marinouda Municipal District
    Temporarily closed due to energy upgrade works being carried out on the building.
  • Acheleia Municipal District
    From October 2026, every Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Payments can also be made online through JCC Smart

In case an invoice has not been received, residents are requested to contact the Municipality’s Service Offices immediately.

Agreement Signed for the Rehabilitation of Geroskipou Cycle Lane

An agreement for the rehabilitation of the existing cycle lane along Theas Aphroditis Avenue in Geroskipou was signed on 27 July 2026 by the Mayor of Ierokipia, Nikos Paliou, and Rogiros Anastasi, representing ANC Waterproofing Industries Ltd.

The project forms part of the Municipality of Ierokipia’s programme to upgrade public infrastructure within the Geroskipou tourist area. The planned works will restore the existing cycle lane as part of broader efforts to improve the area’s transport infrastructure and public realm.

The contract is valued at €108,452.50, excluding VAT. Construction is scheduled to commence on 1 September 2026, with completion expected within two months of the start date.

Excellent seawater quality at Geroskipou’s “Blue Flag” awarded beaches

The Municipality of Geroskipou informs the public that CYMEPA (Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association) carried out laboratory analyses of the seawater at Geroskipou’s “Blue Flag” awarded beaches (the Municipal Beach, the beach of the CTO Municipal Bathing Area, and the “Pachyammos 2” beach in front of the Ledra hotel).

 

The analysed seawater samples were classified as waters of “excellent quality”.

Results of the Architectural Competition for the Redevelopment of the Michalis Pavlides Sculpture Park in Geroskipou

The Municipality of Geroskipou announces the results of the Architectural Competition it launched (Competition No. 18/2026) for the redevelopment of the Michalis Pavlides Sculpture Park in Geroskipou.

The Competition was organised in accordance with the regulations of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) and drew keen interest from the architectural community, with twenty-two (22) entries submitted. These were evaluated by the Competition’s Jury on the basis of specific criteria.

 

1st Prize / €25,000

The architectural competition aimed to secure the best possible proposal in terms of architectural, spatial, technological, environmental, energy, economic and other parameters, and to entrust the architect awarded the 1st prize with the completion of the design and the delivery of the project.

 

The submitted designs will be exhibited in a hall, at a place and time to be announced shortly.

Written Statement by the Mayor of Geroskipou, Nikos Palios

 

“We are especially pleased that an effort spanning many months has reached its conclusion. The ultimate goal of the Municipality of Geroskipou is the optimal use and regeneration of 24,000 square metres, as this also includes the redesign of the existing car park.

The Municipality’s aim is to transform the space into a metropolitan park. To make it the largest green and recreational space in Geroskipou, enhancing the daily life and quality of life of residents.

Through the delivery of the project, prospects will also be created for connecting the central square of Geroskipou with the old silk mill, through the Michalis Pavlides Park, creating a unified, extended and continuous public space.

Event Condemning the Grim Anniversary of the Coup, Held by the Municipality of Geroskipou

An event condemning the treason and honouring the heroes of the Resistance was held today, on the grim anniversary of the Coup, co-organised by the Municipality of Geroskipou and the Fighters of the Resistance Association.

The event, which took place at the War Memorial in Geroskipou Square, began at 8:20 a.m., the hour the Coup was launched.

The programme included a memorial service led by the Very Reverend Archimandrite Odysseas Aspromallis, addresses by the Mayor of Geroskipou Nikos Palios and the Deputy Mayor of Geroskipou Andreas Siikkis, the recitation of a poem by Dinos Charalambous in memory of the heroes of the Resistance, and a brief address by the President of the Fighters of the Resistance Association, Leontios Filippou.

 

The event concluded with the laying of wreaths.

The Municipality of Ierokipia Proceeds with the Procurement of a Branch Shredding Machine

On 9 July 2026, an agreement was signed between the Mayor of Ierokipia, Nikos Palios, and Mr Grigoris Grigoriou, on behalf of the company L. Lambrou Agro Ltd, for the supply and maintenance of a self-contained shredding machine, with the aim of drastically reducing the volume of plant residues resulting from the pruning of trees and shrubs, significantly facilitating their management and contributing to the saving of resources and the production of material for natural recycling.

 

The value of the contract amounts to €34,640 plus VAT.

 

Delivery of the shredder by the contractor is scheduled for September.

 

 

Summer Camp of the Municipality of Ierokipia

The Municipality of Ierokipia is organising a camp for Year 6 children of the Primary Schools of Geroskipou, Konia and Timi.

 

The campers (47 in number), together with their leaders, departed yesterday, 6/7, for Pelendri and will return on 10/7.

 

The Municipality of Geroskipou Camp includes a rich programme of educational and recreational activities with full board. The greater part of the cost of running the programme is borne by the Municipality of Ierokipia as part of its social contribution.
