Agia Marinouda forms part of the Ierokipia Municipality, together with Geroskipou, Acheleia, Konia and Timi.
Its name comes from Saint Marina, to whom the village church is dedicated.
The community has mainly an agricultural character and is located a short distance from the city of Paphos.
The area is known for its farming activities, peaceful way of life and the preservation of elements of traditional Cypriot countryside.
Agia Marinouda, like the neighbouring communities of Geroskipou, has historical links with the wider Paphos region and forms part of the local tradition and heritage.
