1. What are cookies?

Under applicable law, “the installation of “cookies” is permitted only with the user’s consent and following appropriate information being provided to them.”
For this reason, on the user’s first visit to the website https://www.ierokipia.org.cy/ a pop-up window appears where the visiting user can declare their consent to the installation of the cookies specifically referred to, which are non-functional cookies aimed at improving the products and services presented on the Website, such as: rating or reviewing products and services by the User, connection with social media, configuring settings on audio and video players, statistical-analysis cookies concerning the number of visitors to the website and the number of pages viewed without directly identifying the user, and advertising cookies that collect information for the purposes of online advertising, which is grouped into certain general categories or areas of user interest by examining the web pages the user views and the links they follow to other websites.

“Cookies” with multimedia content, such as flash player “cookies”, during a session on a website. Examples are the “cookies” installed when a video is played on the website the user has visited.
“Cookies” that are necessary to carry out load balancing on a connection to a website.
“Cookies” that “remember” the subscriber’s or user’s choices regarding the presentation of the website (e.g. “cookies” relating to the choice of language or the presentation of search results on a website).
“Cookies” installed via plug-ins on social-network websites that relate to the sharing of content among authenticated members who are already logged in.
4. How to control cookies
You can delete all cookies already on your computer, and you can set most browsers to prevent cookies from being installed. However, in that case you may need to adjust certain preferences yourself each time you visit a website, and some services may not work.
