Upgrading of the Municipal Beach and Development of the Coastal Promenade in Geroskipou

The implementation of the project will be carried out in two stages, which are distinguished based on the execution of each construction contract. Each construction contract involves a different scope of work, and its timeline is different, as one contract precedes the other.

1. Supplementary Infrastructure in the Coastal Zone of the Municipality of Ierokipia

At this stage, this includes the development of a parking area (227 spaces), a playground, and green spaces. It involves the construction of playgrounds, beach sports areas, accessibility infrastructure for people with disabilities (PwDs), green spaces, landscaping of the surrounding area, and a parking lot. The parking area will consist of 227 spaces (12 of which are for PwDs) to serve visitors wishing to access the beach and its facilities.

The project covers an area of 9,600 m², with the final surface paved with coloured paving stones. The playgrounds will cover approximately 574 m² and include various equipment such as swings, a complex play structure, seesaws, spring riders, etc. A safety rubber surface will be installed in the playground area, while the rest of the project area will be paved with coloured paving stones. Around 150 suitable trees will also be planted within the project area.

2. Development and Landscaping of the Parallel Coastal Pedestrian Streets and Public Spaces in the Coastal Area

This involves the reconstruction and widening of the pedestrian street in front of the hotels, construction of a new pedestrian street with soft surfaces in front of the plot of the Holy Archdiocese, installation of uniform street lighting with solar panels, and installation of urban furniture.

Improvement Projects of the Traditional Core and Kato Vrysi in Geroskipou

The project is a comprehensive urban regeneration intervention aimed at the holistic upgrading of the centre of Geroskipou. It includes key actions such as improvements to the road network and enhancement of its safety, improvements in area connectivity, development/upgrading of green infrastructure, accessibility infrastructure, undergrounding of public utility services, and upgrading of areas of interest.
