Municipality of Geroskipou Services Closed During the Easter Period

The Municipality of Geroskipou announces that all of its services will remain closed for the Easter holidays, from Good Friday, 10 April, until Easter Monday, 13 April 2026.
On Easter Tuesday, 14 April 2026, the municipal services will operate with skeleton staff, while the Municipality’s Finance Department will remain closed.
The Municipal Library will remain closed until Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
The Waste Collection Service will operate normally. Residents are kindly requested to help maintain cleanliness by placing their refuse in the designated areas.
On this occasion, the Municipality of Geroskipou wishes all residents a Happy Easter.

Meeting of the Geroskipou Municipal Council with the Minister of Health

On the initiative of the Municipality of Geroskipou, a meeting was held yesterday, 6 April, at the Municipal Hall between the Municipal Council and the Minister of Health, Mr Neophytos Charalambidis.

The sole topic of the meeting was the optimal use of the Christoforos Hadjilambris Medical Centre in Koloni for the benefit of the residents of the Municipality and the wider area.

The discussion took place in a positive and productive atmosphere, with an emphasis on specific prospects for strengthening the Health Centre, such as the installation of ultrasound equipment and staffing with a Radiologist, further reinforcement with specialist doctors, as well as the need to promote and showcase the Centre’s services through targeted communication initiatives.

ANNOUNCEMENT – CLEAR YOUR PLOTS

The Municipality of Geroskipou calls on all owners of plots or other parcels of land located within the municipal area, specifically in the districts of Geroskipou, Konia, Timi, Koloni, Agia Marinouda and Acheleia, to clean them and remove weeds and/or waste materials by 26 April 2026. Responsibility for cleaning parcels of land rests solely with the owners, even if the waste materials present on them have been placed / dumped by third parties.

After the above date has passed, the Municipality of Geroskipou will clean all plots, fields or other parcels of land that have not been cleaned and will charge their owners. The charge will be based on the weight and category of the materials removed, but in no case will it be less than ninety euros (€90) per plot.

This notice is also considered a personal notice to all owners of plots / parcels of land.

New traffic arrangements and signage in the traditional core of Geroskipou

The Municipality of Geroskipou announces that, following approval by the Technical Committee of the Central Body for the Resolution of Traffic Problems and by the Police, new traffic arrangements and signage will come into effect from 6 April 2026 within the traditional core of Geroskipou.

 

Specifically, the “core” is designated as a zone with a speed limit of 20 km/h, and ten (10) streets are made one-way:

 

  • Archiepiskopou Leontiou (southbound direction)
  • Athinon – western section (westbound direction)
  • Athinon – eastern section (eastbound direction)
  • Marathonos (northbound direction)
  • Michali Karaoli (westbound direction)
  • Thermopylon (eastbound direction)
  • Kouriou (southbound direction)
  • Arsinois (northbound direction)
  • Dionysou (southbound direction)
  • Parodos Filellinon & Nikis (southbound direction)

For the implementation of the above measures, the necessary signage/traffic signalling will be installed.

INVITATION TO EXPRESS INTEREST NO. 29/2026 FOR THE PROVISION OF LEGAL ADVISOR SERVICES

The Municipality of Geroskipou invites expressions of interest for the provision of Legal Advisor services for one year, with the right of the contracting authority to renew the contract for an additional period of two years (1+1), provided that both contracting parties agree.
The required qualifications, terms and conditions, as well as other relevant information, are set out in a special form of the Municipality, which interested parties may obtain from the Municipality’s website INVITATION TO EXPRESS INTEREST NO. 29/2026 and/or from the Municipality’s Archive (Municipal Hall) during working days and hours.
Expressions of interest must be addressed to the Municipality of Geroskipou and must be submitted, together with the supporting documents required under this notice, in a sealed envelope to the Municipality of Geroskipou no later than Thursday 30 April 2026 at 13.00.

Student Grants from the Municipality of Geroskipou

As part of its social contribution and with the main aim of providing tangible support to students of the municipal area, the Municipality of Geroskipou yesterday, 23/3, awarded a number of student grants for the academic year September 2024 – June 2025.

Specifically, on the basis of specific criteria and conditions, grants of €1000 each were awarded to eight (8) beneficiaries.

REQUEST FOR TENDERS NO. 26/2026 Clearing of plots, embankments and other parcels of land

  1. The Municipality of Geroskipou invites tenders for the clearing of plots and embankments, fields or other parcels of land using an agricultural tractor fitted with a special machine for shredding grass and small-scale prunings.

 

  1. Tenders must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked on the outside “TENDER NO. 26/2026 FOR THE CLEARING OF PLOTS” and placed in the Municipality’s tender box no later than 1:00 p.m. on Monday, 23 March 2026.

 

  1. In addition to specifying a price for each plot, tenderers must clear one plot to the satisfaction of the competent Officers of the Municipality of Geroskipou, demonstrating the efficiency and effectiveness of their machine.

 

  1. The price specified in the tender must also cover the clearing of the embankments surrounding the plots as well as the shredding of any small quantity of prunings that may be found within the plots.

 

  1. Tenders must be submitted on the tender submission form provided by the Municipality and accompanied by all the necessary documents.

REQUEST FOR TENDERS Ierokipia Municipality

 

APPLICATION FOR A LICENCE TO SELL ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES (RETAIL OR WHOLESALE) FOR THE YEAR 2026 (The Sale of Alcoholic Beverages Law, Cap. 144, Section 3)

The Municipality of Geroskipou announces:

  1. All holders of business premises (natural or legal persons) permitted to sell alcoholic beverages within the municipal boundaries of the Municipality of Geroskipou must submit an application to the competent Authority, namely the Municipality of Geroskipou, in order to obtain a licence to sell alcoholic beverages

(The Sale of Alcoholic Beverages Law, Cap. 144, Section 3).

  1. The relevant application form is available at the Customer Service Office of the Municipality of Geroskipou and is also posted on the Municipality’s website https://ierokipia.org.cy/
  2. For the application to be accepted, it must be accompanied by all the required Documents/Certificates:
  • Original Criminal Record Certificate for the applicant (in the case of a legal person, a Certificate must be provided for the person legally responsible and for the seller(s)).
  • Original accommodation classification certificate (in the case of a hotel or other accommodation).
  • Copy of the Registration Certificate and Certificate of appointment of the person legally responsible (in the case of a legal person).
  • Copy of the Building Permit.
  • Copy of the Health Certificate from the Health Service of the Ministry of Health.
  1. Applications must be completed properly and must set out accurately all the information requested, supported by the necessary certificates or other documents.
  2. Should an application not be submitted, or should it be rejected, the Municipality of Geroskipou will take all appropriate legal measures.
