The Municipality of Geroskipou is currently presenting the art exhibition “Geroskipou of Yesterday and Today”, at the Geroskipou Municipal Gallery “Apothiki” (5 Kerkyras Street).

The artists Angela Pisiara, Maxim Anferov, Femi Michael, Yiannis Siepis, Charalambos Epaminondas and Stella Karagiorgi narrate Geroskipou, each through a different means of expression but with a common denominator: painting, history, culture, traditions, and everything else this remarkable place can inspire in an artist.

The opening was performed last Saturday 26/9 by the President of the EDEK Central Committee, Marinos Sizopoulos. The exhibition will run until 5 October 2020.

The owners of the following vehicles/objects are hereby informed that, in accordance with Article 92^A of the Municipalities Law, these vehicles/objects, which have remained on the following streets/public/private spaces for more than three weeks, have been designated as abandoned by the Municipal Council of Geroskipou.

Should they not be removed from the following locations within four weeks of the date of this notice, the Municipal Council has the authority to dispose of them in accordance with the provisions of the applicable legislation.

On 9 September 2020, at the “Attikon” multi-purpose venue, the public presentation of the approved study for the project to protect and improve the south-western coasts of the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou took place.

The study was presented by the project consultants, the Joint Venture Dion. Toumazis & Associates – Rogan and Associates S.A.

The study area has a total length of approximately four kilometres and is bounded by the Paphos municipal baths to the west and the Geroskipou tourist beach to the south.

The main objective of the study is to define the strategy for the development of the coastal zone by protecting the shore from erosion and improving the quality of the beach, so that it is compatible with tourism and recreational uses and, above all, provides the safe conditions necessary for bathers to use the coast.

The estimated cost is put at ten (10) million euros and will be shared by the two municipalities, the hoteliers of the area and the state, while the possibility of including it among projects co-financed by European Funds will also be examined.

The Municipality of Geroskipou calls on the residents of Geroskipou to support with their donations the battle for her health being fought in Germany by our fellow resident Nikoletta Chrysanthou.

Specifically, tomorrow, Friday 18/9 at 6.00 p.m., our fellow resident and cyclist Petros Ppolos, as part of the relevant fundraiser he is conducting, will pass through Geroskipou Square, in front of the Town Hall, to collect financial assistance from citizens and organised groups of Geroskipou.
