The Municipality of Geroskipou provides support to businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic

At a recent meeting of the Municipal Council, the Municipality of Geroskipou approved reductions for businesses that were obliged to suspend their operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic under the decrees of the Minister of Health.

The reductions concern the following:

A. Refuse Collection Fees (with the exception of residential premises , which will be charged the same amount as the previous year) and Trade Premises Usage Rights (Trade Premises Licences).

The reductions concern businesses and trade premises as set out in detail in the explanatory table, which were obliged to suspend their operations under the decrees of the Minister of Health.

Affected businesses are invited to submit an objection in good time and, in any case, before the expiry date stated on the relevant invoices to be sent by the Municipality of Geroskipou. Objections must be submitted to the Municipality of Geroskipou (objection form) and be accompanied by all the necessary supporting documents as explained below, after which they will be examined by the competent Committee.

The supporting documents required for the examination of all the above reductions are:

1. A certificate from a certified Accountant / Auditor confirming the period during which the specific premises were closed, as well as their use in accordance with the decree.
2. A Social Insurance certificate / application for assistance / approval of a subsidy due to the suspension of operations.
3. Any additional clarifications deemed necessary by the Municipality.

Objection Form

As part of the effort to address the increasing spread of coronavirus and to safeguard public health, the Municipality of Geroskipou informs the public that:

– Visits to the Town Hall will be conducted by appointment and by no more than one person. Residents are kindly requested to contact the relevant department by telephone or by email to arrange an appointment.

– Visitors must wear a protective mask upon entering the Town Hall.

– The Municipal Cashier’s Office operates normally, with all coronavirus protection measures in place (use of masks, antiseptic, distancing). Payments may also be made online through the Municipality’s website and through www.jccsmart.com.

The measures may be modified according to developments and/or the instructions issued by the state.

We urge our fellow residents to show cooperation and to take the preventive measures that have been announced for the protection of themselves and their families.

On Friday, 30 October 2020 at 11.30 a.m., the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Geroskipou Regional Health Centre will take place. The foundation stone will be laid by the President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Anastasiades.

Construction of the project began in January 2020 and is expected to be completed in June 2021. The cost of the project, estimated at two (2) million euros, will be borne by the State (4/5) and the Municipality of Geroskipou (1/5). The Medical Centre, with a total area of 1,600 sq.m., will bear the name “Christoforos Neofytou Hatzilambris” in recognition of the donor of the property. It is located next to the Koloni roundabout, in a prime position to serve the residents of Geroskipou and the communities of eastern Paphos.

The opening will take place on Wednesday 14 October 2020 at 7.00 p.m., by the former President of the House of Representatives, Mr Yiannakis Omirou.

Exhibition duration: 14/10 – 16/10. Opening hours: 6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the “And Then Came Spring” Association for patients with haematological conditions.

An agreement for the provision of services for the creation of promotional audiovisual material in digital format, on behalf of the Municipality of Geroskipou, was signed today (7/10) at the Geroskipou Municipal Hall between the Municipality of Geroskipou and Tetraktys Films Ltd.

The contract will cover the production of two films: (a) one lasting 8.5 – 10 minutes and (b) a second lasting 2.5 – 3 minutes, to promote the identity of Geroskipou, its distinctive features and advantages.

These films are expected to be shown on large screens, in mobile applications, on social media, on tourism networking platforms, etc., and will be available in four languages (Greek, English, German and Russian).

The duration for carrying out the subject of the Contract is set at a period of twelve (12) months from the date the agreement is signed.
