TENDER NO. 29/2020 – Procurement of Specialist Services – Officer Responsible for the Operation of the “Iris” Family and Child Counselling Centre Programme (partnership between the Municipality of Geroskipou and the Geroskipou Community Welfare Council

  1. The partnership between the Municipality of Geroskipou and the Geroskipou Community Welfare Council invites expressions of interest for the procurement of specialist services for an officer responsible for the operation of the “Iris” Family and Child Counselling Centre programme in Geroskipou. The Centre’s officer will work on a flexible weekly schedule totalling twenty (20) working hours, depending on the needs that arise.

This programme is funded by the Social Welfare Services of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance.

  1. The professional qualifications required for this contract are:
  2. A degree in Psychology
  3. Registration in the Register of Licensed Psychologists of Cyprus
  4. Licensed Counselling Psychologist
  5. A valid Licence to Practise the Profession
  6. Proven experience of two (2) years in matters relating to the provision of counselling support services and support for vulnerable groups

TENDER NOTICE NO. 23/2020 “PROCUREMENT OF SECRETARIAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE MUNICIPAL PREVENTION TEAM (M.P.T.)”

The Municipality of Geroskipou is accepting expressions of interest for the procurement of Secretarial Support services for the MPT – under a contract for services, in order to staff the Geroskipou Municipal Prevention Team (M.P.T.) for carrying out the prevention programmes it has undertaken on behalf of the Cyprus National Addictions Authority.

The professional will work flexible weekly hours totalling 20 working hours, depending on the needs that arise.

 

Contract Budget – Monthly Fee: For the Services it provides under the Agreement to be signed, the Municipality will pay the Contractor a fixed monthly fee of €500, including VAT.

 

Duration of Performance

The duration for performing the subject matter of the Contract is set at a period of 12 months from the date the Contract is signed.

Job Description:

  • Completing applications
  • Communicating and publicising the activities of the Geroskipou MPT to schools, organisations, etc.
  • Handling correspondence
  • Promoting the team’s activities online and in the local press
  • Coordinating activities on site
  • Assisting with the implementation of prevention programmes

The required qualifications of the professional for this Contract are:

  1. Holder of a Lyceum or Technical School Leaving Certificate with an overall grade of 16+.
  2. Proven relevant experience of two (2) years.
  3. Holder of a recent Clean Criminal Record Certificate.

Photography Exhibition by Athina Pavlidou “A Glance at Nature”, at the Geroskipou Municipal Gallery.

The opening will take place on Wednesday 14 October 2020 at 7.00 p.m., by the former President of the House of Representatives, Mr Yiannakis Omirou.

Exhibition duration: 14/10 – 16/10. Opening hours: 6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the “And Then Came Spring” Association for patients with haematological conditions.

Provision of services to the Municipality of Geroskipou for the creation of promotional audiovisual material in digital format

An agreement for the provision of services for the creation of promotional audiovisual material in digital format, on behalf of the Municipality of Geroskipou, was signed today (7/10) at the Geroskipou Municipal Hall between the Municipality of Geroskipou and Tetraktys Films Ltd.

The contract will cover the production of two films: (a) one lasting 8.5 – 10 minutes and (b) a second lasting 2.5 – 3 minutes, to promote the identity of Geroskipou, its distinctive features and advantages.

These films are expected to be shown on large screens, in mobile applications, on social media, on tourism networking platforms, etc., and will be available in four languages (Greek, English, German and Russian).

The duration for carrying out the subject of the Contract is set at a period of twelve (12) months from the date the agreement is signed.

Memorandum of Cooperation between the Municipality of Paphos and the Municipality of Geroskipou

On 23 September 2020, a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou was signed to pursue funding for projects from the European Union Funds, while a contract was also signed with the contractor consortium Remaco/Planet S.A. for the preparation of the Integrated Territorial Development strategy study for the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou, within the framework of the new EU programming period 2021-2027 .

Art Exhibition “Geroskipou of Yesterday and Today”

The Municipality of Geroskipou is currently presenting the art exhibition “Geroskipou of Yesterday and Today”, at the Geroskipou Municipal Gallery “Apothiki” (5 Kerkyras Street).

The artists Angela Pisiara, Maxim Anferov, Femi Michael, Yiannis Siepis, Charalambos Epaminondas and Stella Karagiorgi narrate Geroskipou, each through a different means of expression but with a common denominator: painting, history, culture, traditions, and everything else this remarkable place can inspire in an artist.

The opening was performed last Saturday 26/9 by the President of the EDEK Central Committee, Marinos Sizopoulos. The exhibition will run until 5 October 2020.

Presentation of a study for the protection of the south-western coasts of Paphos

On 9 September 2020, at the “Attikon” multi-purpose venue, the public presentation of the approved study for the project to protect and improve the south-western coasts of the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou took place.

The study was presented by the project consultants, the Joint Venture Dion. Toumazis & Associates – Rogan and Associates S.A.

The study area has a total length of approximately four kilometres and is bounded by the Paphos municipal baths to the west and the Geroskipou tourist beach to the south.

The main objective of the study is to define the strategy for the development of the coastal zone by protecting the shore from erosion and improving the quality of the beach, so that it is compatible with tourism and recreational uses and, above all, provides the safe conditions necessary for bathers to use the coast.

The estimated cost is put at ten (10) million euros and will be shared by the two municipalities, the hoteliers of the area and the state, while the possibility of including it among projects co-financed by European Funds will also be examined.
