For the purpose of informing the public, the Municipality of Geroskipou announces that, from 29 May until 2 June 2022, a National Guard exercise, in cooperation with the armed forces of Israel, will be conducted in the wider area of the Paphos district.

The majority of the activities, which will be conducted mainly at night, will concern personnel training and will not involve the use of ammunition or pyrotechnic materials.

 

TENDER FOR THE DISPOSAL OF A VEHICLE

The Municipality of Geroskipou invites tenders for the disposal of the vehicle with registration number KPD285, make Peugeot. Any customs duty shall be paid by the successful bidder.

The highest bidder is obliged to collect the vehicle no later than 10 days after the award of the tender and after paying the corresponding amount.

Tenders must be in a sealed envelope, addressed to the Mayor of Geroskipou, marked on the outside of the envelope “TENDER FOR THE DISPOSAL OF A VEHICLE WITH REGISTRATION NO. KPD285” and placed in the tender box of the Municipality of Geroskipou no later than Friday 10 June 2022.

Installation of Fitness Equipment at Geroskipou Municipal Beach

In yet another project to enhance Geroskipou Municipal Beach, the Municipality of Geroskipou has installed fitness equipment at selected points along the beach.

The purchase of the equipment amounts to €17,460 plus VAT. The greater part of the cost was covered by the Cyprus Sports Organisation.

“Blue Flag” Awarded to Geroskipou Beaches

The Municipality of Geroskipou is pleased to announce that, for 2022, three of its beaches have been awarded the “Blue Flag”. These beaches are the Municipal Beach, the beach of the C.T.O. Municipal Bathing Area, and “Pachyammos” beach. The official award ceremony took place yesterday, 17 May, in Agia Napa.

The “Blue Flag” programme is, first and foremost, an education and information campaign. The Blue Flag is a symbol of high quality and sound coastal management. It is awarded each year to beaches that meet a range of criteria, including bathing water quality, environmental education and information, and the safety and proper management of the beaches.

 

IEROKIPEION FREE UNIVERSITY IN PAPHOS – Accidents in childhood

The final lecture of the 18th Year of the “Ierokipeion Free University in Paphos” will take place on Friday, 27 May 2022 at 7.00 p.m., in the Events Hall of the Geroskipou Multipurpose Centre.

The speaker of the lecture, “Accidents in childhood”, will be Paediatric Surgeon Evangelia Gougoudi of the Medical School of the University of Cyprus.

As part of the closing ceremony, certificates will be awarded to friends of the “Ierokipeion Free University” who regularly attended the lectures of the 18th Cycle.

In addition, the co-organisers will posthumously honour the late Mayor of Geroskipou Michalis Pavlidis for his contribution to the “Ierokipeion Free University in Paphos” as a member of the Organising Committee of the institution (2012 – 2021).

The lectures of the “Ierokipeion Free University” are open to the public and are broadcast live by Radio Paphos 93.7 and recorded by the University of Cyprus radio station UCYvoice 95.2. At the end of the presentations, the audience, as well as the listeners of Radio Paphos, can take an active part in the discussion that follows.

Operating Hours of the Municipality of Geroskipou for the Easter Period

The Municipality of Geroskipou informs the public that the Municipal offices and cash desk will remain closed from Good Friday, 22 April, until Easter Tuesday, 26 April 2022.

Tomorrow, Maundy Thursday, 21 April, the Municipal offices and cash desk will remain open until 13.00.

The Municipality’s essential services will operate as normal.

The Acting Mayor, the Members of the Municipal Council and the staff of the Municipality of Geroskipou wish you a Happy Easter!

 

 

Easter in Geroskipou

The Municipality of Geroskipou has drawn up a rich and varied programme of events to celebrate Easter together with its residents, as well as with those of the wider area.

The programme of events “Easter 2022 in Geroskipou”, which begins on 22 and concludes on 26 April, includes, among other things, music and dance performances, Easter games and sports competitions, always combined with the traditional customs of Easter.

The Municipality of Geroskipou invites the residents of Geroskipou, as well as those of the wider area, to support the Easter Events, both through their active participation in the various events and through their attendance at them.
