Every week, a different neighbourhood

The “Every week, a different neighbourhood” campaign by the Municipality of Geroskipou

From June 2026, the Municipality of Geroskipou will launch the “Every week, a different neighbourhood” campaign, bringing municipal services to every neighbourhood of the Municipality and enabling faster resolution of problems, without the usual bureaucracy.

The neighbourhood is the basic building block of a town. Daily life is lived in the neighbourhoods, and that is why, over the coming period, our Municipality’s presence in them will become stronger.

Specifically, the Mayor and members of the Municipal Council will move through the neighbourhoods, identifying and recording needs, while the municipal services will plan measures and intervene to resolve the problems.

The tour schedule will be announced every Friday, so that residents themselves have the opportunity to take part in the whole process, raising the issues that concern them through direct contact with the Mayor and the Municipality’s services.

From June, then, we will be present in every municipal district, in every neighbourhood, alongside and close to our residents, working to improve their living conditions through works such as:

  • Repair of damaged asphalt surfaces.
  • Repair of pavements.
  • Improvement of street lighting.
  • Improvement of parks and playgrounds.
  • Street sweeping and washing of roads.
  • Cleaning of abandoned premises and open spaces.
  • Removal of abandoned vehicles.
  • Abatement of nuisances.

Displaced persons of the Geroskipou Municipal District will be able to exercise their voting right at the polling centre:
