Gift Vouchers for 180 pupils from the Municipality of Geroskipou

 

As part of its social policy and its tangible support for the vulnerable families of the municipal area, the Municipality of Geroskipou has provided vouchers for the purchase of clothing to 180 children attending nine (9) schools (in Geroskipou, Konia and Timi).

The vouchers were handed over today, 22 December 2025, at the Geroskipou Municipal Hall, by Mayor Nikos Palios and the Chairman of the Committee for Social Welfare, Social Cohesion and Citizen Protection, Giorgos Leonidas, to the Head Teachers or representatives of the school units.

The Municipality of Geroskipou expresses its thanks to Famous Sports for its social awareness and its significant contribution to supporting the children and their families.

The Municipality of Geroskipou, particularly during the festive season, will continue to care for the vulnerable groups within its community and to support those of our fellow citizens who are in need.

Announcement – Postponement of today’s events

The Municipality of Ierokipia informs the public that today’s Christmas events are postponed due to the poor weather conditions.

 

A further announcement will follow regarding the new date on which the events will be held.

Signing of an agreement for the improvement of a section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue
in the areas of the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou (Konia)

An agreement for the improvement of a section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in the areas of the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou (Konia) was signed today (15/12) at the Paphos Municipal Hall.

The contractor for the project, for the sum of €1,474,340.60 plus VAT, is the company Panath Construction Ltd.

The project, which is being promoted and co-financed by the Municipalities of Paphos and Geroskipou, is expected to contribute substantially to the improvement of the area’s road network and to the enhancement of road safety.

The implementation period of the project is set at ten (10) months from the date the works commence.


ANNOUNCEMENT TO ALL OWNERS OF IMMOVABLE PROPERTY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GEROSKIPOU.

The Municipality of Geroskipou announces that the bills for the 2025 Municipal Immovable Property Fee have been sent to all owners of immovable property within the municipal boundaries of Geroskipou (Geroskipou, Konia, Timi, Agia Marinouda and Acheleia), with a final payment date of 29 December 2025.


Residents/taxpayers from all Municipal Districts will be served at all offices of the Municipality as follows:
•Municipal District of Geroskipou – Geroskipou Square, Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 13:30
•Municipal District of Konia – New Offices (former Konia Cooperative), Griva Digeni 51, Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 13:30
•Municipal District of Timi – Agias Vryonas 10, Timi, Monday, Wednesday, Friday | 08:00 – 14:30
•Municipal District of Agia Marinouda – Agias Marinas Avenue, Agia Marinouda, Tuesday & Thursday | 08:00 – 14:30


Payments may also be made through the website of JCC Payments Systems Ltd at www.jccsmart.com
Please note that, after 31 December 2025, a surcharge of 10% will be imposed in accordance with the legislation.

On 30 and 31 December 2025 the Municipality’s cash offices will be closed due to end-of-year processing work.


Any owners of immovable property within the municipal boundaries of the Municipality of Geroskipou who have not received the relevant payment notice are kindly requested to contact the Municipality’s cash offices to settle their dues, or to send the relevant information through the Municipality’s website or to the email: taxes@hierocepia.org.cy

Imposition of Annual Business Charges – Refuse Collection Charge and Professional Tax.

The Municipality of Geroskipou informs all natural and legal persons operating within the municipal boundaries of Geroskipou (Geroskipou, Konia, Timi, Agia Marinouda and Acheleia), or whose company’s registered office is located within the municipal boundaries, that the annual Refuse Collection Charge and Professional Tax have been imposed, in accordance with the decision of the Municipal Council dated 08 December 2025.


Classification of Business Premises
For the first time, a unified taxation system is being applied, with the classification of all business premises based on the type, activity and current use of each premises.


Submission of Objections
Business owners who wish to have their premises reassessed or to change their classification may submit an objection.
Objections will only be accepted once the special form has been completed, which is available:
•at the Financial Department of the Municipality of Geroskipou, and
•at the Citizen Service Offices in each Municipal District.
Every objection must be accompanied by the following supporting documents:
•A certificate of the number of registered employees from the Social Insurance Office, and
•VAT returns for one year, and/or
•An Auditor’s certificate of the business’s turnover.
Objections that are not fully documented will not be accepted.


The deadline for submitting objections is set for 30 January 2026.
The annual charges are payable by 28 February 2026.

From 01 March 2026, a surcharge of 10% will be imposed on outstanding amounts.


«Dormant Companies»
For the definition of «dormant companies», the relevant Circular of the Inland Revenue Department dated 30.1.2014 is adopted.

The supporting evidence that must be submitted for a legal person to be classified as «dormant» is as follows:
•A certificate (on a special form) from the approved Auditor who signs the Auditors’ Report in the company’s financial statements confirming that the company remained dormant for the specific year, based on the interpretation given by the Inland Revenue Department in its relevant circular dated 30.1.2014.
•If the company has not prepared financial statements, the above certificate must be signed by an independent approved Accountant/Auditor or an independent licensed Lawyer. (FIND THE CERTIFICATE HERE.)
•The special form is available at the Financial Department of the Municipality, at the Citizen Service Offices in each Municipal District, and on the Municipality’s website.
