Traffic Management for the Project to Improve a Section of Arch. Makariou III Avenue in the areas of the Municipalities of Pafos and Geroskipou (Konia)

Wednesday, 28 January 2026

As part of the works to improve a section of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue, co-funded by the Municipalities of Pafos and Geroskipou, it is necessary to occupy part of the uphill lane of the avenue (along its northern side) in order to carry out the required works. Part of this lane will have to remain closed for a reasonable period of time, from its junction with Achepans Street to the junction of the avenue with Thasou Street (Konia).

It is noted that the two side streets mentioned above will remain operational: Thasou normally, and Achepans partially, since traffic will flow unhindered in the uphill lane, while in the downhill lane, from the point where the street meets Vasilikou Street up to the junction with the avenue under improvement, use will be permitted ONLY by ambulances. Access uphill towards Konia and the wider area will be possible ONLY via the motorway exit for Konia.

The works will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday 29/01/2026 and will be completed in approximately three months from the start date.

To avoid any inconvenience to the public, a Traffic Management Plan has been prepared to minimise the impact on the road network. Traffic arrangements will be adjusted accordingly as the works progress.

Drivers are kindly requested to use the parallel roads to avoid traffic congestion and inconvenience.

We assure the public that every possible effort will be made to cause the least possible disruption during the execution of this important project, and we ask for their cooperation and understanding.
