Information on the Revision of the Paphos Local Plan

The Municipality of Geroskipou wishes to inform the public that the process of preparing the new Paphos Local Plan has begun.

 

The Town Planning Council invites every interested citizen, organisation or body to take part in the process by submitting reasoned views and proposals.

Submission of proposals until 18/10/2026, electronically only, through the IPPODAMOS system.

 

In preparing its final proposals, the Municipality of Geroskipou will:

 

  • Commission a special study by experts.
  • Organise open meetings, so as to give residents, property owners and others affected in the area the opportunity to express their views and proposals.
  • Provide the option of submitting requests through the Municipality’s website at the link: Local Plan – Ierokipia Municipality

 

Further details on the date of the public consultation will be announced at a later stage.

 

The Municipality of Geroskipou proceeds with the installation of autonomous lighting fixtures at Geroskipou Municipal Beach

On 29 June 2026, an agreement was signed between the Mayor of Geroskipou, Nikos Palios, and Mr Georgios Anastasiou, on behalf of the company Artyan Innovations Ltd, for the supply, installation and four-year maintenance of autonomous lighting fixtures along the promenade of Geroskipou Municipal Beach.

 

The value of the contract amounts to €42,990 plus VAT. The installation of the lighting fixtures is expected to take place during September.

 

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE FILLING OF ONE (1) VACANT POSITION OF REFUSE COLLECTION WORKER

  1. The Municipality of Geroskipou is accepting applications for the filling of one (1) position of Refuse Collection Worker, on salary scale E6-E7.

 

  1. Interested candidates must submit an application by completing the special form, which they can obtain from the official website of the Municipality of Geroskipou Click here and from the Municipal Registry during working days and hours.

 

  1. The application must necessarily be accompanied by the following certificates/documents:
  • Copy of School Leaving Certificate
  • Copy of Birth Certificate or identity card
  • Copy of Clean Criminal Record Certificate
  • Copy of Military Discharge Certificate
  • Copy of Health Certificate from a public or private hospital.

 

  1. Applications must be submitted signed to the Municipal Registry, no later than Friday 17/07/2026 at 14:00, in a sealed envelope marked with the note “Application for the filling of one position of Refuse Collection Worker”.

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE FILLING OF VACANT GENERAL DUTIES LABOURER POSITIONS

The Municipality of Geroskipou is accepting applications for the filling of four (4) General Duties Labourer positions.

The approved salary scale for the position is E5-E6.

The duties of the position are those of a General Duties Labourer across all departments of the Municipality.

APPLICATION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus or of another Member State of the European Union.
  • Have fulfilled their military obligations or have been lawfully exempted from them. In the case of lawful exemption from military obligations, the necessary supporting documents must be provided to demonstrate that the grounds for the lawful exemption do not render them unfit to perform the duties of the position.
  • Not have been convicted by a Criminal Court of an offence involving dishonesty or moral turpitude, and not have been dismissed or had their services terminated from the Public Service or from any organisation of the wider Public Sector.
  • Hold a leaving certificate from a recognised institution of Primary, Secondary General, Secondary Technical and Vocational, or Higher Education.
  • Provide employment certificates from previous employers, if they have worked in the past.
  • Be able to carry out manual work and work involving the use of machinery without any difficulty.

 

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Interested persons may obtain the application form from the Municipal Offices – Administration and Secretariat Department, on the ground floor of the Municipal Hall, Geroskipou Square, 8210 Geroskipou, P.O. Box 63015, during working days and hours, or from the Municipality’s website Click here

 

Applications must be submitted fully completed and signed at the Municipal Offices – Administration and Secretariat Department, no later than 30th July 2026 at 14:00, in a sealed envelope bearing the phrase “Application for the recruitment of a general duties labourer”.

The application must be accompanied by the following supporting documents:

  1. A copy of a “Clean Criminal Record” certificate.
  2. A copy of a Birth Certificate or Identity Card.
  3. A copy of the Primary / Secondary / Higher Education leaving certificate.
  4. A copy of the military discharge certificate.
  5. A Health Certificate from a Medical Officer certifying that the applicant is able to carry out manual work and work involving the use of machinery without any difficulty.

 

Note:

 

  • Working hours may be adjusted according to the Municipality’s needs at any given time. Candidates selected for the positions may be required to work, when necessary, outside the usual working hours of the Municipal Service (shift work, afternoon work).

AWARD OF STUDENT GRANTS BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF HIEROCEPIA 2025-2026


As part of its social contribution and with the main aim of providing tangible support to students, the Municipality of Hierocepia announces a number of student grants for the
2025-2026 academic year.
The main criteria for selecting grant recipients are:
• Resident of Hierocepia (Geroskipou, Konia, Timi, Agia Marinouda and Acheleia)
• Exemplary conduct
• Clean criminal record
• Secondary school leaving certificate grade of 17.5/20 or above.
• Fulfilment of military obligations prior to the submission of the application, or
exemption or deferment.
• Certificate confirming the year of study at the University of Cyprus, at higher education
institutions in Greece or another country.
• Maximum family gross income limit of €42,000 (father –
mother).
• In the case of a large family (4 dependent children or more), the income
limit is increased by €1,000 for each child.
• Attendance must be regular, continuous and not by distance learning.

p.m.

Call for Expressions of Interest for the Creation of a Register of Fire Safety Volunteers

Dear residents of the Municipality of Geroskipou,

Guided by the protection of the environment, of our property and, above all, of human life, the Municipality of Geroskipou is proceeding with the creation of a list (Register) of Volunteers for the prevention, response to and management of matters relating to fires.

The contribution of each of us is invaluable. We invite all residents who wish to offer their services voluntarily and to support the efforts of our Municipality to register their interest.

How you can take part:

  1. By telephone: Call the Citizen Service Office on the five-digit number 17500 to provide your details.
  2. Completing a form: A prerequisite for finalising your registration is completing the relevant Volunteer Declaration Form

Volunteers will receive relevant training from the Fire Service.

Part of Egnatia Avenue in Geroskipou reopened to traffic

The Municipality of Ierokipia announces that the Paphos District Local Government Organisation (EOA) has issued a certificate of approval for part of the project “Improvement of Egnatia Avenue and Other Roads in the Neapolis Project”, which is being carried out by a private company, on the basis of planning approval PAF/2922/2004/Th and land subdivision permit D19/2023.

From today, Thursday 25.06.2026, the following traffic arrangements come into effect, including the closure of the road at the junction of Evropis Avenue with Anthypolochagou Georgiou M. Savva Street:

  • A significant part of Egnatia Avenue is being opened to traffic. The remaining part, up to the junction on Evropis Avenue, will remain closed until the works are fully completed (around the end of September).
  • Road access towards Efta Agiorgides is being opened.
  • The road connecting Anthypolochagou Georgiou M. Savva Street with Egnatia Avenue is being opened. It should be noted that the remaining part of Anthypolochagou Georgiou M. Savva Street, from the point where it connects with the diagonal road, will remain closed, permitting entry only to affected residents, until the completion of the remaining works relating to the junction of Evropis Avenue at the point where it connects with Egnatia Avenue.
  • As part of the commencement of the works relating to the construction of the additional lane on the eastern section of Evropis Avenue, one traffic lane will be temporarily closed during the day so that the necessary works can be carried out, after which it will reopen for normal traffic on both lanes.

Until the second and final phase of the Traffic Management Plan is completed, appropriate arrangements will be made for the safe use of the road network that has been delivered.

Award of Grants by the Municipality of Geroskipou to Charitable Foundations, Cultural & Sports Associations

At a modest ceremony held at the Geroskipou Municipal Hall on 23 June 2026, the Municipality awarded its 2025 grants to charitable foundations and cultural and sports associations operating within the municipal area.

 

Specifically, eleven (11) associations received a total of €75000.

 

The financial support of the associations forms part of the Municipality of Geroskipou’s policy of strengthening the work they carry out for the benefit of our local community.

Three Wishes for Mum – A Multi-Interactive Children’s Book Reading (4/7/2026)

Our Municipal Library takes part in the Library Network of the Deputy Ministry of Culture CY under the 2026 Reading Promotion Programme for Community/Municipal Libraries, “Plant stories and the world will bloom,” and welcomes author and educator Isavella Tilemachou to the Geroskipou Multipurpose Centre on Saturday, 4 July 2026, at 10:30 a.m. for a one-of-a-kind, multi-interactive event!
