Part of Egnatia Avenue in Geroskipou reopened to traffic
The Municipality of Ierokipia announces that the Paphos District Local Government Organisation (EOA) has issued a certificate of approval for part of the project “Improvement of Egnatia Avenue and Other Roads in the Neapolis Project”, which is being carried out by a private company, on the basis of planning approval PAF/2922/2004/Th and land subdivision permit D19/2023.
From today, Thursday 25.06.2026, the following traffic arrangements come into effect, including the closure of the road at the junction of Evropis Avenue with Anthypolochagou Georgiou M. Savva Street:
- A significant part of Egnatia Avenue is being opened to traffic. The remaining part, up to the junction on Evropis Avenue, will remain closed until the works are fully completed (around the end of September).
- Road access towards Efta Agiorgides is being opened.
- The road connecting Anthypolochagou Georgiou M. Savva Street with Egnatia Avenue is being opened. It should be noted that the remaining part of Anthypolochagou Georgiou M. Savva Street, from the point where it connects with the diagonal road, will remain closed, permitting entry only to affected residents, until the completion of the remaining works relating to the junction of Evropis Avenue at the point where it connects with Egnatia Avenue.
- As part of the commencement of the works relating to the construction of the additional lane on the eastern section of Evropis Avenue, one traffic lane will be temporarily closed during the day so that the necessary works can be carried out, after which it will reopen for normal traffic on both lanes.
Until the second and final phase of the Traffic Management Plan is completed, appropriate arrangements will be made for the safe use of the road network that has been delivered.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
