“Ierokipia 2023” Events


As part of its efforts to enhance the quality of cultural life in Geroskipou and the wider region, the Municipality of Geroskipou is organising the “IEROKIPIA” events for the 28th year. These events are the flagship of the Municipality’s cultural policy.

The events, held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will take place from 8 to 29 September and will cover a broad range of the public’s cultural and artistic interests.

The opening of the events, to be held on Friday 9 September in Geroskipou Square, will be attended by Government Spokesperson Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, who will address the audience.

The full programme of events is as follows:


Opening of the Events
“The Songs of the Company” by Manos Loizos, featuring Kostas Makedonas, Despina Olympiou, Andreas Elesnitsalis and the “Diastasi” Vocal Ensemble. With the participation of the “Ieroi Kipoi” Cultural Group.
Friday 8 September, Geroskipou Square, 8.00 p.m.

Theatrical Performance “O Papafigkos”

Wednesday 13 September, Geroskipou Gymnasium, 8.00 p.m.
A Cypriot comedy.
Cast: Themida Nikolaou, Loukia Protopapa, Giorgos Anagiotos, Christos Giagkou, Stelios Martas, Christopher Greco, Giannis Kokkinos, Manolis Michailidis, Iliana Kakkoura.


“A Strange Moon”
Friday 15 September, “Kato Vrysi”, 8.00 p.m.
An evening of Greek art and lyric song.
Vocals/Narration: Chryso Makariou
Piano: Manolis Neofytou


Opening of the Photography Exhibition “Eastern Paphos: people, environment, life, culture, moments”.
Wednesday 20 September, Geroskipou Municipal Gallery “Apothiki”, 7.00 p.m.
Co-organiser: Photographic Society of Cyprus – Paphos Branch.
The exhibition will be open until 24 September (6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.)
Dedicated to the memory of the late Mayor of Geroskipou, Michalis Pavlidis.


Event for World Tourism Day
Friday 29 September, Aliathon Holiday Village Car Park, 8.00 p.m.

  • Musical programme featuring well-known and beloved songs from the international repertoire.
  • Re-enactment of a Cypriot wedding by the “Afroditi” Folklore Group.
  • Exhibition of traditional products and crafts
  • Traditional delicacies on offer
