Declaration of the opening of the events by the Deputy District Officer of Paphos, Ms Emily Dionysiou, on behalf of the President of the Republic of Cyprus.
Concert with Christos Thivaios and Pantelis Thalassinos. Joined by Paris Paraschos, Eleni Mavroudi and a large orchestra. A tribute to the 50 years since the Invasion and Occupation (Part A) and the greatest hits of the two artists (Part B).

Easter in Geroskipou – Programme of Events
The Municipality of Geroskipou has put together a rich and varied programme of events to celebrate Easter together with its residents and with the people of the wider area.
The programme of the “Easter 2024 in Geroskipou” events, which begins on 03 and runs through 07 May, includes, among other things, music and dance performances, Easter games, sports competitions and a theatrical performance, all combined with the traditional customs of Easter.
The Municipality of Geroskipou invites the residents of Geroskipou, as well as those of the wider area, to support the Easter events, both through their active participation in the various activities and through their attendance.

The “Ierokipia” Festival Gets Off to a Successful Start
This year’s “Ierokipia” festival got off to a great start last Friday, 8 September. Once again, “Ierokipia” confirmed its standing as the most significant cultural institution in the Paphos district.
The opening of the events, held before a packed Geroskipou Square, featured the concert “Ta Tragoudia tis Pareas” (The Songs of the Company) by Manos Loizos, with Kostas Makedonas, Despina Olympiou, Andreas Elesnitsalis, the vocal ensemble “Diastasi” and an eight-piece orchestra. The “Ieroi Kipoi” Cultural Group also took part.
In his address, the Acting Mayor of Geroskipou, Kyriakos Hadjivasilis, stressed that “through systematic effort, the Municipality of Geroskipou has managed to establish u2018Ierokipiau2019 as an important cultural institution of more than local significance.”
Declaring the “Ierokipia” festival open on behalf of the President of the Republic, Government Spokesman Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis praised the contribution of “Ierokipia” to culture.
As part of the opening ceremony, the Municipality of Geroskipou paid posthumous tribute to the late Michalakis Leptos for his contribution to the development of Geroskipou and his overall service to the Municipality. It also honoured Charalambos Pazaros, until recently a Municipal Councillor, for his service to the Municipality.
This week, the “Ierokipia” programme continues on Wednesday 13/9, at Geroskipou Gymnasium, with the theatrical performance “O Papafigkos”, and on Friday 15/9, at “Kato Vrysi”, with the musical performance “Ena Feggari Allokoto”, with Chryso Makariou on vocals and Manolis Neofytou on piano.

“Ierokipia 2023” Events
As part of its efforts to enhance the quality of cultural life in Geroskipou and the wider region, the Municipality of Geroskipou is organising the “IEROKIPIA” events for the 28th year. These events are the flagship of the Municipality’s cultural policy.
The events, held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will take place from 8 to 29 September and will cover a broad range of the public’s cultural and artistic interests.
The opening of the events, to be held on Friday 9 September in Geroskipou Square, will be attended by Government Spokesperson Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, who will address the audience.
