Donation from the Petrideio Foundation to the Municipality of Hierocepia Library.


The Petrideio Foundation, after which the “Petrideio” Municipal Library of Hierocepia is named, made a donation of books worth approximately 500 euros in December. These books enrich the collection of the Municipal Library

and its ability to meet the needs of the reading public.

The donation includes noteworthy book titles, publications of the Leventis Foundation, covering a variety of subjects of cultural and historical interest.

The books were received by the Mayor of Hierocepia, Mr Nikos Palios, and the Municipality’s Librarian from the President of the Petrideio Foundation, Mr Michalis Marathevtis, in the presence also of the Foundation’s Treasurer, Mr Georgios Steniotis.

The Mayor of Hierocepia, Mr Nikos Palios, warmly thanked the Petrideio Foundation for the generous donation and its continued support of the Municipality. Mr Marathevtis assured that the Foundation’s support would continue in the future, further strengthening the Municipality’s efforts to develop its cultural infrastructure.

Event at the Petrideios Municipal Library of Geroskipou 16/10

On Monday 16 October, our Library hosted the beloved author Georgia Kyriakou (Gogo’s Stories) as part of our programme to promote a love of reading.

Afterwards, the first-graders of the 1st Primary School of Geroskipou had the opportunity to listen to the fairy tale “When the Little Mouse Trusted a Stranger”,

to make their own unique little mouse and to shout out loud, “We go nowhere with a stranger!”

We would like to express our thanks to Mrs Georgia Kyriakou, who, with her uniquely interactive storytelling, created such a wonderful experience for the children.

We also thank the administrative and teaching staff of the 1st Primary School of Geroskipou for the help they provided in making the event possible.
