Municipality of Ierokipia Services Closed Until Easter Monday

The Municipality of Ierokipia announces that all of its services will remain closed for the Easter holidays, from Good Friday 18 April to Easter Monday 21 April 2025.
On Easter Tuesday (21 April), the municipal services will operate with skeleton staff, while the Municipality’s Finance Department will remain closed.
The Municipal Library will remain closed until Wednesday 17 April.
The Refuse Collection Service will operate as normal.
On this occasion, the Municipality of Ierokipia wishes all residents a Happy Easter!

Operation of the Kolone “Green Point” & the tree-cutting and bulky-waste collection service of the Municipality of Ierokipia


The Municipality of Ierokipia informs its residents that the Kolone “Green Point” is located within its municipal boundaries, on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue (next to the roundabout).

There, specific materials and waste are received free of charge, on the following days and hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
and
Saturday: 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.

The materials / waste accepted are the following:
– Inert materials and rubble
– Used cooking oil
– Aluminium
– Glass
– Furniture
– Thermometers
– Tree cuttings (green waste)
– Light bulbs
– Metal objects (scrap, radiators, etc.)
– Do it yourself (tiles, sanitary ware, etc.)
– Vehicle batteries
– Wood
– Toys
– Plastic containers
– Plastic
– Mattresses
– Cleaning materials
– Packaging materials (cardboard)
– Textiles
– Carpets
– Medicines
– Paper
– Paints

Tyres, tar paper, polystyrene, asbestos materials and pesticide containers are not accepted.

At the Kolone “Green Point” the above materials are received free of charge, provided that they come from households and/or from third parties who hold prior permission / authorisation from the Board of the Paphos Landfill.

Under no circumstances will materials or waste from commercial activities, contractors, industries or other professional bodies be accepted.

We also inform the residents of all municipal districts that the Municipality of Ierokipia operates a service for the collection of tree cuttings and bulky items from premises, for those residents who are unable to transport them themselves (for a small charge of €20 + VAT).

Announcement from the Paphos Sewerage Board

ANNOUNCEMENT
The Paphos Sewerage Board informs the owners and/or occupiers of all premises within its area of responsibility that, for the period 19/06/2024 to 30/07/2024, it has scheduled spraying operations to control cockroaches and rodents in the public sewerage system.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• The spraying works will be carried out by an appointed private subcontractor and supervised by a competent officer of the Paphos Sewerage Board.
• The spraying works will cover only the public sewage manholes.
• During the same period, owners and/or occupiers of connected premises are advised to clean and spray the manholes of their private sewer and their connection manhole.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Strengthening of Security Measures at the Cemetery of the Municipality of Geroskipou


Taking the problem of thefts at the Municipal Cemetery seriously, the Municipality of Geroskipou has adopted further measures to protect the security of the site.
Specifically, it has done the following:
Reinforcement of the Fencing: The reinforcement of the cemetery’s fencing has been completed, with the aim of restricting unlawful activity on the site.
Enhancement of Lighting: Lighting has been enhanced at points of particular importance, mainly at the cemetery entrances, in order to deter unwanted intrusions during the night hours.
Implementation of Operating Hours: Operating hours have been imposed, daily from 06:30 a.m. to 20:00.
At the same time, a request has been made for more frequent police patrols to respond immediately to any potential security breach.
Regarding the installation of a surveillance system, we inform the public that the Municipality had submitted two applications in the past to secure a licence for the installation of a closed-circuit surveillance system, which did not receive a positive response. Nevertheless, efforts on this matter are continuing, and we expect to receive the required approval soon.

Announcement

The Municipality of Geroskipou informs the public that, in view of the summer holidays, the Municipality’s offices will be closed
on 14 August (Monday) and 15 August (Tuesday) 2023.
The cleaning services will operate as normal on 14 August.
The Municipal Library will reopen on 21 August with opening hours of 08:00-14:30.
