TECHNICAL SERVICES

Responsibilities:

• The Technical Service is responsible for implementing the Municipality’s overall policy in the fields of town planning, spatial planning and development, through the relevant laws, regulations, decrees and decisions of the Municipal Council.
• It examines the siting of developments in relation to the Town and Country Planning Law.
• It examines applications for building permits.
• It is responsible for the design of the developments that the Municipality undertakes from time to time, such as parks, green spaces, buildings, road networks, etc.
• It is responsible for the new constructions carried out by the Municipality’s crews within the municipal boundaries, as well as for the maintenance of all municipal properties.
• Construction and maintenance of pavements and culverts.
• Reinstatement of road trenches from public utility services and road surfacing.
• Installation and maintenance of vertical and horizontal signage (signposting with signs and road markings).
• It is responsible for the preparation and monitoring of contracts with private contractors.
• Maintenance of parks and green spaces.
• Maintenance of the Water Supply Network.
• Bus shelters.
• Traffic studies for the improvement of the road network.
