SECRETARIAT AND ADMINISTRATION
The Secretariat coordinates and drives the operating mechanism of the Municipality’s Departments. It assists the Municipal Council in making its decisions by providing it with data and information gathered from the other Municipal Departments and other sources, after first studying and processing them appropriately. It is the body through which the Mayor, as the sole Executive Authority of the Municipality, implements the decisions of the Municipal Council.
Responsibilities:
- Handles the receipt and classification of all incoming and outgoing applications and correspondence, as well as the prompt and correct distribution of documents to each Department or Directorate.
- Maintains a Register and individual files of the staff.
- Maintains a Register of the Municipality’s legal cases.
- Maintains a Register of tenders.
- Handles the keeping of the minutes of the Municipal Council.
- Handles the study and implementation of Collective Labour Agreements and provides all necessary information for their correct application.
- Issues or circulates circulars to the staff.
- Also deals with:
-European Affairs
-Traffic Wardens
-Civil Marriages
-Sports Centre
- Monitors and grants staff leave for rest and sickness.
- Sees to the training of all the Municipality’s employees.
