Participation of the Municipality of Geroskipou in the “Toys With Love 2020” Campaign – no child without a gift

The Municipality of Geroskipou is actively participating in the Pancyprian campaign “Toys With Love 2020” – no child without a gift, and invites the residents of Geroskipou and the residents of the wider area to offer toys (new and lightly used) in the special box that has been placed in the foyer of the Geroskipou Municipal Hall.

The toys collected will be offered as Christmas gifts, accompanied by cards, to children of families with fewer opportunities. The Campaign was carried out for the first time in 2017 and proved to be a very beautiful project.

The Campaign is organized by the Social Policy and Action Organization, within the framework of the KidSocialAct programme, and is held under the auspices of the Commissioner for Volunteerism and NGOs.

 

 

Announcement of Annual Tenders

The Municipality of Geroskipou invites the following tenders for the period up to 31st December 2021.

 

Tenders must be completed on the special tender forms posted on the Municipality’s website, under the “Tenders” category.

Tenders must be submitted no later than 11/12/2020 at 12.00 noon.

The sole criterion on which the Municipality will award the tender is the lowest price.

Cleaning of the Ezousa River

The Municipality of Geroskipou recently carried out the cleaning of the Ezousa River. On this occasion, the Municipality of Geroskipou calls on citizens not to dump rubble and other construction or waste materials into the Ezousa River. Instead, they can make use of the Koloni Green Point, which can accept a wide variety of materials.

 

 

Rapid coronavirus testing (rapid test) in Geroskipou

The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the company Mediwell and the Municipality of Geroskipou, will offer completely free rapid coronavirus tests for the residents of Geroskipou and the wider area.

Tomorrow, Tuesday 8/12, a sampling team will be present at Geroskipou Square, from 08.30 to 17.00.

Donation of one thousand (1,000) face protection masks to the Municipality of Geroskipou

Chinese businessman Henry-Alexandros Jiang, continuing his philanthropic contribution amid pandemic conditions, today, 3/12, donated one thousand (1,000) face protection masks to the Municipality of Geroskipou.

The Mayor of Geroskipou, Michalis Pavlides, thanked Alexandros for his contribution, which supports the collective effort to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

 

 

 

Award to a Primary School pupil for his contribution to recycling

 

The Municipality of Geroskipou was represented on 1st December 2020 at an event held at the 11th Primary School of Paphos on reducing plastic, as part of the school’s cooperation with the non-governmental organisation “Akti”.

As part of the event, the Mayor of Geroskipou Michalis Pavlides presented an award to a fourth-grade pupil, Lefkos Pasios, for his initiative in collecting a large quantity of bottle caps.

 

 

 

AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIPS BY THE MUNICIPALITY OF GEROSKIPOU

 

The Municipality of Geroskipou, as part of its social contribution and with the primary aim of providing tangible support to students, is offering a number of scholarships and grants for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The main criteria for selecting scholarship recipients are:

  • Resident of Geroskipou
  • Exemplary conduct
  • Clean criminal record
  • Secondary school leaving certificate grade of 18.5/20 or higher.
  • Fulfilment of military obligations prior to submitting the application, or exemption or deferral.
  • Confirmation of year of study at the Universities of Cyprus, at higher education institutions in Greece or another country.
  • Maximum family income of €30,000 (father – mother).
  • In the case of a large family (4 or more dependent children), the income limit is increased by €2,000 for each child. In the case of single-parent families and orphaned children, the maximum family income limit rises to €32,000.
  • Attendance must be regular, full-time and not by distance learning.
