The curtain rose yesterday, to great success, on the “Ierokipia 2025” cultural events, leaving unforgettable memories for everyone!
Audiences enjoyed a unique concert-tribute marking 100 years since the birth of the great composer M. Theodorakis, featuring Rita Antonopoulou, Dimitris Fanis and Kostas Chatzichristodoulou, accompanied by a large orchestra under the direction of Neoklis Neofytidis.
On Wednesday, 10 September 2025, the President of the S.K. EDEK, Mr Nikos Anastasiou, accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Paphos, Mr Ilias Myrianthous, the 2nd Vice President, Mr Andreas Siikkis, and members of the party’s District Committee, visited the Geroskipou Municipal Hall and held a meeting with the Mayor and the Members of the Municipal Council.
During the meeting, general issues relating to the reform of local government were discussed, as well as other more specific matters concerning the Municipality of Geroskipou.
The Mayor of Geroskipou, Nikos Palios, thanked the President of EDEK for his tangible interest in addressing the problems faced by local government, as well as for the party’s support of the new Municipality.
The Municipality of Geroskipou announces the launch of a tender for the provision of internal audit services to the Municipality, in accordance with Article 109 of the Municipalities Law 2022.
The total duration of the contract is three years and its value is €36,000 excluding VAT.
Through the provision of these services, the Municipality of Geroskipou seeks to strengthen oversight, improve procedures and monitor its activities.

Filling of three vacant permanent Traffic Warden posts
1. The Municipality of Geroskipou is accepting applications for the filling of three (3) vacant permanent Traffic Warden posts.
2. The posts are advertised following a decision of the Geroskipou Municipal Council dated 04/09/2025.
3. A written and an oral examination will be held for the filling of the posts.
4. Candidates who consider that they meet the relevant legislative provisions for appointment to the Municipality and possess the qualifications set out in the scheme of service for the posts for which the examination is being held will be invited to sit the written examination.
5. The approved salary scale for the post is A2-A5-A7(II). Any general increases approved by legislation are added to the salary. In addition, a cost-of-living allowance is paid in accordance with the percentage approved by the Government from time to time.
6. In accordance with the terms of approval of the Municipality’s Budget, the entry scales for new entrants will be reduced by 10% of the initial gross salary of the posts. Upon completion of 24 months of service, employees will be placed on the initial point of the salary scale of the posts, as defined in the relevant Scheme of Service.
7. The duties and responsibilities, as well as the required qualifications for the post, are set out in the Scheme of Service of the post, which was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic under No. 4438 and dated 24/01/2025 (Eighth Appendix – Schemes of Service).8. Interested persons may obtain the Application Form, the Scheme of Service, the Filling Framework and the Filling Notice for the post from the Central Registry of the Municipality of Geroskipou (Municipal Hall, Geroskipou Square) or from the Municipality’s website www.hierocepia.org.cy.
9. Applications must be delivered against a receipt of receipt to the Central Registry of the Municipality or sent by registered post to the address: Municipality of Geroskipou, P.O. Box 63015 – 8201 Geroskipou, in sealed envelopes bearing the phrase «Application for the filling of three (3) vacant permanent Traffic Warden posts», no later than Tuesday 30/09/2025 at 14.00.
10. On submission of the application, applicants must pay an examination fee of €35.00 including VAT. It is noted that the examination fee is non-refundable. The payment receipt must be attached to the application submitted. Applications not accompanied by a payment receipt will not be accepted.

The Municipality of Geroskipou invites tenders for the pruning or felling of palm trees, as well as
various other trees located on public pavements or green areas within the
municipal boundaries, including their removal and disposal at an approved site.
The price shall be quoted for each palm tree or other tree pruned or felled, including
the loading, removal and disposal of the foliage at an approved site. Tenderers should
visit the site and take into account all the factors that will affect the
work as a whole, as well as the following:
1. The removed prunings shall be deposited at an approved site.
2. The work shall be carried out in such a way that the comfort and safety of local residents are not
affected.
3. Counting shall be carried out and supervised by an authorised employee of the Municipality.
4. Pursuant to the Minimum Safety and Health Requirements (Use of Work
Equipment at Work) Regulations of 2001 (K.D.P. 444/2001), Annex 11, employees
must be provided with appropriate information and instructions for
use, be adequately trained (relevant and/or specialised training) in the use of the
equipment, and be granted the right of consultation and participation in the
matters covered by the Regulations. A training certificate should be attached if
available. Specifically for the use of work equipment for lifting loads/persons,
attach Regulation of 2001 (K.D.P. 444/2001), p. 4715, paragraph 3.
5. Work must begin within 3 days of the award of the tender
and be completed within 20 working days.
Tenders must reach the Municipality no later than Monday 29 September 2025 at
12:00 noon.
Tenders must be completed on the tender form, submitted in a sealed envelope, and
addressed to the Mayor of Geroskipou.
The envelope must bear the phrase <<TENDER NO. 72/2025>>.
The criterion on which the Municipality will award the tender is the most economically
advantageous offer.

METAL RAILINGS IN TWO PARKS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GEROSKIPOU
(TIMI AND AGIA MARINOUDA MUNICIPAL DISTRICTS)
The Municipality of Geroskipou invites tenders for the construction and installation of metal
railings in two parks in the Timi and Agia Marinouda Municipal Districts.
The price shall be given per metre of railing and per unit for the gates, and shall include the
construction and installation thereof in accordance with the drawings and instructions of the Competent Officer of the
Municipality of Geroskipou. Tenderers should visit the site and take into account all
factors that will affect the work as a whole.
The works shall be carried out in such a way that the comfort and safety of local residents are not
affected.
The works must be completed within 6 weeks from the date the tender is awarded.
Tenders must reach the Municipality no later than Monday, 29 September 2025 at
12:00 noon.
Tenders must be completed on the tender form and submitted in a sealed envelope to the
tender box of the Municipality of Geroskipou, located at the Municipal Hall in Agia
Paraskevi Square in Geroskipou, and addressed to the Mayor of Geroskipou.
The envelope must bear the wording <<TENDER NO. 60/2025>>.
The criterion on which the Municipality will award the tender is the most economically advantageous.
