DUTIES OF DOG OWNERS

DUTIES OF DOG OWNERS

The Municipality of Geroskipou informs all its residents that, under the Dogs Law, every dog owner is required to obtain a dog-keeping licence from the Municipality of Geroskipou.
To be issued with a dog-keeping licence, the following must be submitted:
1. A health certificate or health booklet for the dog, issued by a registered veterinarian.
2. Proof that the dog has been fitted with an identification microchip.
3. A registration certificate from the State Veterinary Services.
A dog owner is any person, at least sixteen years of age, who holds a dog-keeping licence from the Municipality of Geroskipou and has the dog under their care. The dog’s living conditions must not pose any risk to public health, safety or human well-being. In addition, the dog owner must display a sign at the entrance to their premises reading “BEWARE OF DOG”, and must ensure that their dog does not cause a nuisance or roam freely in other areas.
