“Ierokipia 2023” Events


As part of its efforts to enhance the quality of cultural life in Geroskipou and the wider region, the Municipality of Geroskipou is organising the “IEROKIPIA” events for the 28th year. These events are the flagship of the Municipality’s cultural policy.

The events, held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, will take place from 8 to 29 September and will cover a broad range of the public’s cultural and artistic interests.

The opening of the events, to be held on Friday 9 September in Geroskipou Square, will be attended by Government Spokesperson Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, who will address the audience.

Opening of the Events
“The Songs of the Company” by Manos Loizos, featuring Kostas Makedonas, Despina Olympiou, Andreas Elesnitsalis and the “Diastasi” Vocal Ensemble. With the participation of the “Ieroi Kipoi” Cultural Group.
Friday 8 September, Geroskipou Square, 8.00 p.m.

Theatrical Performance “O Papafigkos”

Wednesday 13 September, Geroskipou Gymnasium, 8.00 p.m.
A Cypriot comedy.
Cast: Themida Nikolaou, Loukia Protopapa, Giorgos Anagiotos, Christos Giagkou, Stelios Martas, Christopher Greco, Giannis Kokkinos, Manolis Michailidis, Iliana Kakkoura.


“A Strange Moon”

An evening of Greek art and lyric song.

Opening of the Photography Exhibition “Eastern Paphos: people, environment, life, culture, moments”.

The exhibition will be open until 24 September (6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.)
Dedicated to the memory of the late Mayor of Geroskipou, Michalis Pavlidis.

“IEROKIPEION FREE UNIVERSITY IN PAPHOS” – Opening Lecture of the 16th Series

 

The “Ierokipeion Free University in Paphos”, jointly organised by the Municipality of Geroskipou, the University of Cyprus and Radio Paphos, is opening its doors for its 16th series of lectures. A dynamic and engaging series of lectures invites Paphos residents of all ages to a fruitful dialogue on the pressing issues facing our society today.

 

The opening lecture will be given on Friday, 25 October 2019 at 7.00 p.m. in the Events Hall of the Geroskipou Multipurpose Centre by Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus, Mr Konstantinos Pitris, who will explore the topic “Implants of electronic systems and cells for ‘Precision Medicine’ against brain cancer”.

 

The lectures of the “Ierokipeion Free University” are open to the public and are broadcast live by Radio Paphos across Cyprus on 93.7 and recorded by the University of Cyprus radio station UCYvoice 95.2. Following the presentations, both the audience and the listeners of Radio Paphos across Cyprus can take an active part in the discussion that follows.

Opening Lecture of the 16th Cycle

 

The “Ierokipeion Free University in Paphos”, jointly organised by the Municipality of Geroskipou, the University of Cyprus, and Radio Paphos, opens its doors for the 16th cycle of lectures. A dynamic and engaging cycle of lectures invites the residents of Paphos of all ages to a fruitful dialogue on the pressing issues facing our society today.

 

The opening lecture will be delivered on Friday 25 October 2019 at 7:00 p.m., in the Events Hall of the Geroskipou Multipurpose Centre, by the Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Cyprus, Mr Konstantinos Pitris, who will develop the topic, “Implants of electronic systems and cells for ‘Precision Medicine’ against brain cancer”.
