At the Opening of the Events, in a Geroskipou Square packed with people, the concert «Ta Tragoudia tis Pareas» (The Songs of the Company) by Manos Loizos was held, featuring Kostas Makedonas, Despina Olympiou, Andreas Elesnitsalis, the vocal ensemble «Diastasi» and an eight-member orchestra. The «Ieroi Kipoi» Cultural Association also took part. Declaring the opening of the «Ierokipia» on behalf of the President of the Republic, the Government Spokesman, Mr Konstantinos Letymbiotis, praised the contribution of the «Ierokipia» to culture.

As part of the opening ceremony, the Municipality of Geroskipou paid posthumous tribute to the late Michalakis Leptos for his contribution to the development of Geroskipou and his overall service to the Municipality. It also honoured the recent Municipal Councillor Charalambos Pazaros for his service to the Municipality.
