Geroskipou B’ Primary School

Geroskipou B’ Primary School

Geroskipou B’ Primary School is built between Ap. Kourri and Ploutonos streets, on the southern side of the town of Geroskipou. It first opened in the 1978-1979 school year as the second cycle, with six classes and Mr Andreas Hadjigeorgiou as its first headteacher.

The population growth of the area gradually necessitated the expansion of its buildings, reaching the point in 2008 where it operated with 14 classes and 360 pupils.

In the 2010-2011 school year, the seismic upgrading of the school began and was completed, in accordance with the consultants’ timetable, in four phases over a period of 2 years. The school was fully renovated with the addition of new specialised classrooms, as well as a multipurpose hall. In 2015 this hall was renamed the Hall of Pupil Heroes. The school is now a true jewel for the community, an educational and cultural centre for future generations.

Today the school has 300 pupils, of whom 85 originate from 10 countries, distributed across 14 classes.

This school year the school is staffed by 25 teachers, of whom two are Special Education teachers and one is a Speech Therapy teacher. A Special Education Unit operates at our school.
