Installation of New Bus Stops and Shelters in the Municipality of Geroskipou
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, through the Department of Public Works, is implementing a Cyprus-wide programme to upgrade public transport infrastructure by installing new bus stops and shelters, as part of the strategy for sustainable mobility and increased use of public transport.
The Municipality of Geroskipou is taking part in this programme, and the first new stops and shelters have already begun to be installed at the Geroskipou Municipal Beach (Germaninas Street) and in the tourist area (Aphrodite Goddess Avenue), to serve the travelling public.
The project is co-financed by the “THALEIA 2021-2027” Cohesion Policy Programme and the European Regional Development Fund, with the aim of improving the passenger experience, increasing the use of public transport and reducing the environmental impact of travel.
