ANNOUNCEMENT – Local Government Reform

Operation of the Finance Departments of the Municipality of Geroskipou and the Communities of Konia, Timi, Agia Marinouda and Acheleia.

 

Under the new operating framework for Local Government, which takes effect on 1 July 2024 and in accordance with the provisions of the Municipalities Law, the Municipality of Eastern Paphos has been established, with Geroskipou as its seat. The Municipality of Eastern Paphos comprises the Municipality of Geroskipou and the Communities of Konia, Timi, Agia Marinouda and Acheleia, which will hereafter be referred to as the Districts of the new Municipality.

To this end, and in order to ensure a smooth transition to the Municipality of Eastern Paphos, the public is informed that the last day of operation of the Finance Departments for public service (collections, payments to third parties, objections, and the issuing of alcohol, tobacco, dog and commercial-premises licences), as well as of electronic payments through the JCC service, has been set for 27 June 2024.

Public service, as well as payments at the cash desks, will resume normal operation from Thursday 04/07/2024. The Municipality of Eastern Paphos will serve the public at the cash desks of the Geroskipou, Konia, Timi and Agia Marinouda districts, at their existing offices. For the Acheleia district, the public will be served at the offices of the Geroskipou District.

All taxes and fees already invoiced by the Municipality and the Communities will be payable as normal from Thursday 04/07/2024 at the respective offices of the Districts of the Municipality of Eastern Paphos.For invoices with a due date up to 30/06/2024, an extension of the final payment date to 31/07/2024 is granted.

The Municipality of Eastern Paphos will continue to keep the public informed on all matters relating to the reform, with the aim of facilitating and providing prompt service.
