Invitation to Take Part in the “EURODYSSEE” Work Placement Programme in Europe

Invitation to Take Part in the “EURODYSSEE” Work Placement Programme in Europe

The Union of Cyprus Municipalities, in cooperation with all the Municipalities of Cyprus and the Department of Labour, invites young unemployed people to take part in EURODYSSEE, the European work experience programme.

The EURODYSSEE programme is offered by the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, through the Department of Labour in cooperation with the Union of Cyprus Municipalities, and gives young people aged 18-32 the opportunity to gain work experience in another European country (occupational/vocational training) for a period of 4-7 months) in one of the regions that are members of the EURODYSSEE programme. Cyprus is able to send 4-5 young people each year to gain practical experience.

All the positions available under the programme can be found at www.eurodyssee.eu.

The programme provides a grant covering part of the living costs borne by participants, insurance coverage (including accident, third-party liability and social insurance), the opportunity to attend intensive foreign-language courses during the training period, and assistance with accommodation.

The mobility grant is paid to participants by the contracting bodies of each host country, and its amount depends on the regulations of the host country.

The programme is open to young people who:

  1. Are between 18 and 32 years of age on their date of departure,
  2. Are registered as unemployed with the offices of the Public Employment Service,
  3. Have completed training or studies (holding a relevant certificate or qualification) in the field to which the work placement offered by the position relates.
  4. Are legally resident in the Republic of Cyprus
  5. Are citizens of the Republic of Cyprus or citizens of any other European Union member state and have the right of free access to the European labour market and can move freely and without formalities within the territory of the European Union. Priority will be given to participants whose destination is a country other than their country of origin.
  6. Have a sufficient knowledge of the language that will be used during the work placement
  7. Are not receiving more than one source of funding for the relevant work placement
